🌍 Our Place in the Diocese

We are proudly and fully part of the Catholic Diocese of Marsabit, under the jurisdiction of Laisamis Deanery. Our parish is one among the 17 parishes that make up this vast and spiritually rich diocese, which covers a wide geographical area in the arid and semi-arid northern region of Kenya.

As a local church community, we serve with dedication and joy among the pastoralist and nomadic populations of our region. Together with the other parishes in the diocese, we share in the Church’s mission of evangelization, sacramental life, education, and social outreach.

In collaboration with our bishop, deanery leadership, and fellow parishes, we strive to build a vibrant Catholic Christian community that is faithful to Christ, rooted in the Gospel, and responsive to the pastoral needs of the people of Marsabit.

🏢 Our Salesian Presence in Kenya

Our headquarters in Kenya is located at the Salesians of Don Bosco Provincial House in Upper Hill, Nairobi. From this central base, the Salesians coordinate and animate our mission across the country.

In Kenya, the Salesians of Don Bosco currently have 11 active presences, serving in various parts of the country. These include formation houses, parishes, schools, technical institutes, youth centers, and missions — all rooted in the charism of St. John Bosco, focused on the education and evangelization of the young, especially the poor and most vulnerable.

Each presence, including Don Bosco Mission Korr, is part of this dynamic Salesian family committed to building a hope-filled future for the youth and communities we serve.

🙋‍♂️Who we are

We the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) are a Catholic religious Society founded in 1859 by St. John Bosco in Italy. Our mission is to care for young people, especially the poor and abandoned, through education, evangelization, and empowerment. We are now present in 130+ countries serving schools, parishes, orphanages,Youth Centres and missions. Here in Kenya  we are have 11 presences, Don Bosco Mission Korr being the first presence of the Salesian missionaries  from India. 

🏜️ Salesians  in Korr

The Salesians  of Don Bosco arrived in Korr in 1981, invited to take over mission work started by Fr. Redento, a Fidei Donum missionary priest.  Korr is located in the Kaisut Desert, Marsabit County, among the Rendille and Samburu people  who  are  pastoralists. We  serve the community through:

• Youth Formation & Education  

• Health & Social Services
